Add Sermon Video and Livestreams
Kleis supports on-demand video and livestreams from Planning Center Publishing. Each format has a separate WordPress block. Audio remains available through Kleis Sermon Audio.
Add on-demand video
Section titled “Add on-demand video”- In Planning Center Publishing, open an episode.
- Open Media and resources.
- Under On-demand settings, add the Video on-demand library URL.
- Save the episode and publish it to the library.
- In WordPress, run a manual Kleis sync to import existing video settings.
- Add Kleis Sermon Video to your single Episode template.
- Save the template and preview an episode with video.
The block uses the current episode, including inside a Query Loop. It displays nothing when the episode has no usable video. Later episode updates synchronize through the existing webhook connection.
The on-demand library and livestream use separate video settings. Planning Center does not automatically convert a livestream into an on-demand video. After a service, add the recording to the episode’s Video on-demand library settings.
Add a livestream
Section titled “Add a livestream”- In Planning Center, publish the channel and enable Watch live.
- Configure the channel’s default livestream or the episode’s livestream video.
- Add the episode’s live schedule and publish it for live viewing.
- In WordPress, run a manual Kleis sync to import your channels.
- Add Kleis Livestream to your homepage or another page.
- Select the channel in the block settings.
- Save the page.
The block follows the selected channel’s current episode. It displays video only while Planning Center reports an active live schedule. Schedule video settings take priority over episode settings. Episodes that use the channel’s default livestream can use its default video settings. A scheduled prerecorded video can also appear during its active live schedule.
The block displays an unavailable message outside the active schedule. Unpublished channels, archived channels, and channels with Watch live disabled do not display a player. Livestream episodes do not need publication to the on-demand library.
The block requests current video information when the page opens. It refreshes every minute while the page is visible, including on cached pages. An unchanged player continues without restarting. The livestream block requires JavaScript.
Supported players
Section titled “Supported players”- YouTube and Vimeo URLs display responsive embedded players.
- Direct HTTPS MP4, WebM, and OGV URLs use the browser’s video player.
- Provider iframe embed codes display a responsive player, including providers such as Resi and BoxCast.
- Other valid HTTPS video URLs display a Watch video link.
Kleis uses public HTTPS URLs and safe iframe attributes. It does not execute scripts from embed codes. If a provider requires scripts, use its iframe embed code or video URL instead. Provider privacy settings must permit playback on your website. Captions and playback controls depend on the source video and its provider. Kleis does not host, record, or convert video.
Source documentation
Section titled “Source documentation”See Planning Center’s episode setup guide and channel setup guide. The integration uses the documented Episode, Channel, and EpisodeTime fields.
