Compare approaches

Choose how Planning Center content reaches WordPress.

Kleis is designed for teams that want Planning Center to remain the content source while WordPress controls the public layout. Other approaches can fit different budgets, skills, and maintenance expectations.

Approach comparison

ApproachStrengthsTradeoffs
KleisNative Episode posts, flexible event blocks, managed Planning Center connection, and WordPress-controlled design.Paid subscription, supported products are Publishing and Calendar, and one site activation is included.
Manual duplicate entryNo integration service is required, and editors can change every WordPress field independently.Teams must repeat updates in two systems and keep content consistent themselves.
Iframe or embedCan be quick to place when a source provides embeddable output.WordPress has less control over markup, templates, archives, and styling inside the embedded experience.
Custom API developmentCan target organization-specific data, workflows, and presentation.Requires development, OAuth security, API maintenance, caching, error handling, and ongoing compatibility work.

Kleis and Church Center

Kleis does not replace Church Center. Church Center continues to provide its app and congregation workflows. Kleis helps a separate WordPress website present supported Planning Center content and can link visitors back to Church Center when a public link is available.

Known boundaries

  • Kleis supports Planning Center Publishing and Calendar, not every Planning Center product.
  • Calendar events remain remote data and do not become WordPress event posts.
  • One subscription covers one active WordPress site; staging is not a separate entitlement.
  • Block themes are the most direct design path; every page builder integration is not guaranteed.
  • Ongoing sync, Calendar, update, and connection services require an active subscription.
